Gable vents, also called louvers or attic vents. They are typically used on the gable ends of a home, either as functional vents with a screen, or closed as a faux or decorative gable vent. These gable vents are often used to dress up a backyard shed gable, or as a decorative cover to an existing unsightly gable end vent.
All of these vents are 2″ thick (or projection) unless otherwise noted.
We make these gable vents out of high density Polyurethane foam so they look and feel much like wood vents. This material has a similar density to a softwood, making them a great replacement for cedar louvers or gable vents. High density cast foam Polyurethane material (often called by the trade name “Fypon”) will not rot or crack, even when highly exposed to the weather. That along with the fact that it looks and feels like wood, make polyurethane the ideal material for use in exterior architecture. PVC or vinyl louvers look and feel like plastic because, well, they are. We think you’ll find our poly gable decorations to be the right choice for your project.
Installing a poly gable vent is very straightforward, similar to installing a wood product. Glue with PL Premium adhesive, and/or screw or nail, patch, and paint. Full gable vent installation instructions can be downloaded below.
