Polyurethane Newel Posts provide an anchor for your railing system, adding beauty and strength. Made of a synthetic material which closely mimics wood. The crisp clean lines and warm feel are that of traditional Cedar, but is impervious to the elements. Mounted with our invisible Newel Installation Kit, these posts have been tested and meet guard rail strength requirements.

The 5 1/2-inch “turned” polyurethane newel post is best used with our 3 5/8″ porch rails. It is ideal for decks and small to medium sized porches. The Smooth Polyurethane Newel Post is perhaps the most versatile balustrade post. It is offered in sizes from 4″ wide all the way up to the massive 12″ size. For unsurpassed beauty and detail, use our Raised Panel Polyurethane Newel Post. They are available in 8″, 10″, and 12″ sizes.
All of the above polyurethane newel posts are fastened with our Newel Installation Hardware Kit, which is completely hidden from view. It consists of a plate that is bolted to the porch floor, a threaded rod running up through the newel, and a top channel piece. In that way, the whole newel is basically bolted from the top down. The result is a very strong post.
You’ll sometimes hear polyurethane newel posts referred to as Fypon newel posts. Fypon is a brand name of polyurethane. They are probably the largest brand, but have been bought and sold by big corporations and have outsourced production to China. We make all our polyurethane products in the USA, which gives us better quality control and more consistent lead times.
